DHS Records of Ian Smith’s Resume, SF-50s, and Ethics Documents

Records released by the Department of Homeland Security in response to a FOIA request submitted by American Oversight. The records contain former policy analyst Ian M. Smith’s resume and ethics forms.

Smith, who resigned from his position at DHS in 2018, was revealed to have white nationalist ties. Smith regularly corresponded with known white supremacists, and attended immigration meetings at the White House convened by senior Trump adviser Stephen Miller.

American Oversight previously filed a FOIA request for Ian Smith’s calendars, call logs, and records of communication. We received a “no responsive records” response. However, Smith has been listed as an attendee in events listed in the calendars of other DHS officials.
