On Nov. 4, NARA informed American Oversight that it had asked the CIA for a report on Secretary Mike Pompeo’s use of personal email to conduct official business, along with confirmation that Pompeo had forwarded all such emails to his official account or had provided the CIA with a copy of those emails.
On Oct. 22, American Oversight sent a letter to the National Archives and Records Administration, the Central Intelligence Agency, and the State Department urging them to take prompt action to recover any federal records that may have been unlawfully removed from CIA or State Department custody as a result of Secretary Pompeo’s use of personal email to conduct government business.
