The Justice Management Division of the Department of Justice stated that it had no records of legal analysis or recusals related to Attorney General Sessions’ role in firing FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe. American Oversight asked for these records to understand whether and to what extent political considerations outweighed ethical and legal principles in the firing of a career, non-political federal employee.
