The Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) stated that it had no records responsive to American Oversight’s request for communications with the National Pork Producer’s Council, The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, and The North Carolina Pork Council regarding the risks posed by hog lagoons following Hurricane Florence.
