Lawsuit filed by American Oversight against the Department of Homeland Security seeking the release of records related to the Trump administration’s “Remain in Mexico’' policy (Migrant Protection Protocols, or MPP), including records concerning its implementation. The lawsuit also seeks documents regarding changes to asylum processing and related communications of senior agency officials.

The Department of Homeland Security stated that it had no records responsive to American Oversight's request for records demonstrating how the government is implementing the Trump administration’s policy of forcing immigrants to remain in Mexico while their claims are processed.

The pressure on the president and his administration has been even further intensified thanks to the release of damaging text messages sent by government officials.
