According to documents American Oversight obtained, Ian M. Smith worked on immigration issues, including budgetary matters surrounding separated children and deportation relief for Guatemalans in the U.S.

American Oversight's lawsuit against several agencies seeking calendars following previous request for senior officials' calendars. Some of the requests are seeking calendars from mid-2018 and others' date back to the beginning of the administration.
