The Department of Defense stated that it had no records responsive to American Oversight's request for records regarding the decision to employ low-flying helicopters, including one bearing Red Cross markings, to intimidate and disperse peaceful protesters in downtown Washington, D.C.

The irony of protests against police brutality being met with violent escalation by law enforcement is perhaps matched only by the authoritarianism of the president and attorney general.
