Opinion and order from the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia partially granting American Oversight's motion seeking a preliminary injunction to compel the rapid release of State Department records related to President Trump's effort to pressure Ukraine. The court orders the State Department to work with American Oversight to narrow the scope of our FOIA requests and to process and release all non-exempt documents from the narrowed requests on or before November 22, 2019.

Transcript of Oct. 23, 2019, court proceedings regarding American Oversight's lawsuit seeking the release of senior State Department officials' communications with Rudy Giuliani or about any attempt to pressure Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden or his son. American Oversight also seeks records regarding the recall of former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch and communications between the State Department and President Trump’s personal attorneys Victoria Toensing and Joseph diGenova.
