American Oversight is investigating the Trump Administration’s repeated use of chartered aircraft for government travel. High-priced travel at taxpayer expense has become a pattern in the Trump administration — and the public has a right to know where our tax dollars are going.

American Oversight continues to fight the unprecedented opacity that surrounded the confirmation process of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. In 2018, the Senate rushed ahead with hearings and the Trump administration withheld vital records concerning Kavanaugh’s fitness for the nomination. American Oversight has been working on multiple fronts to ensure that the public has the information it deserves to vet Kavanaugh’s ability and moral character as suitable for the role of Supreme Court justice.

Department of Labor calendars for Wayne Palmer, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy, Mine Safety and Health Administration, and former Chief of Staff to the Secretary. Calendar entries span the timeframe of September to November 2017. American Oversight also obtained calendars for Nathan Mehrens, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy.

American Oversight is representing Maine Secretary of State Matt Dunlap in his lawsuit against the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity (PACEI), on which he served as a member. On August 3, 2018, Secretary Dunlap released the first set of records he obtained from the commission, along with a preliminary report on his findings, determining that the commission had found no evidence of widespread voter fraud.
