Christina Bobb, a former Trump attorney and far-right television presenter who was a fervent supporter of efforts to overturn the 2020 election, is now the Republican National Committee’s senior counsel for “election integrity.”

Bobb’s RNC appointment came shortly after Trump secured the party’s 2024 nomination, and signals the RNC’s focus on continuing to push lies about voter fraud and election security. Bobb played a major role in the fake-electors scheme and, as public reporting and documents obtained by American Oversight detail, supported partisan and baseless post-2020 election investigations in Arizona and Wisconsin.

Bobb previously worked as a correspondent for the Trump-aligned One America News Network, where she promoted falsehoods about the 2020 election and in 2021 urged viewers to donate in support of the Arizona Senate’s “audit” of Maricopa County’s election results through her organization Voices and Votes, which contributed over $600,000 in donations for the Arizona effort.

Documents American Oversight uncovered in its investigation of the Arizona “audit” shed light on the role Bobb played not only in that state but also in the Wisconsin Assembly’s partisan election inquiry, which also took cues from conspiracy theorists and failed to uncover any evidence of fraud.

In December 2020, as Bobb was working closely with Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani to assemble “evidence” that could support the fake-electors plot, Bobb provided Arizona Senate President Karen Fann with purported evidence, writing that Giuliani had “asked me to send you these declarations.” At that time, supporters of Trump — and the former president himself — were clamoring for Arizona officials to uncover supposed fraud and reject the results of the election.

Once the Maricopa “audit” got under way in the spring of 2021, Bobb frequently communicated with its leaders. That March, Fann passed along a document with a title that began “Pres. Fann audit hiring” to a group including Bobb and Giuliani. In August, Bobb asked Fann if she could share Fann’s contact information with conservative attorney Michael Gableman, a former Wisconsin supreme court justice who had been hired to run the Wisconsin Assembly’s bogus election investigation. Fann replied, “Absolutely of course.”

On Oct. 1, 2021 — the same day Gableman issued subpoenas for election materials in Wisconsin — Doug Logan, the CEO of lead “audit” contractor Cyber Ninjas, sent Bobb copies of Arizona “audit” subpoenas. 

Bobb has continued working in support of Trump over the past several years. In June 2022, as an attorney for Trump, Bobb signed a sworn affidavit falsely assuring the Justice Department there were no more classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. In 2023, Bobb released a book titled “Stealing Your Vote: The Inside Story of the 2020 Election and What It Means for 2024.”

The Trump campaign and the RNC’s prioritization of “election integrity” is a dangerous continuation of the lies that have been used to undermine our democracy in recent years, and has dangerous implications for this year’s election.
