Records from the U.S. Department of Agriculture in response to American Oversight's request for officials' communications with protein industry groups, such as Smithfield Foods. This initial request also sought communications with state government officials with Covid-19 outbreaks in their jurisdictions.

The federal government partnered with various private entities to develop systems to track pandemic-related data, from Covid-19 hospitalizations to vaccine supply. American Oversight is investigating the public-private partnerships behind these systems.
