American Oversight today sued the Departments of Energy, Transportation, and State for records of communications between officials and the office or campaign of Sen. Mitch McConnell.

The Georgia Office of the Governor stated it had no record of communications between any Office of the Governor staff and any employee or representative of Hart AgStrong LLC or Perdue AgriBusiness LLC since January 2019. Governor Kemp was formerly a co-owner of Hart AgStrong, which was ultimately bought by Perdue AgriBusiness in August 2019.

On Thursday, American Oversight sued the Department of the Interior for the communications of Interior Solicitor Daniel Jorjani and BLM Acting Director William Pendley.

Lawsuit filed by American Oversight against the Department of the Interior (DOI) for the communications of DOI Solicitor Daniel Jorjani and Bureau of Land Management Acting Director William Pendley, including communications with specific groups representing energy industry interests. This lawsuit also seeks Pendley’s calendars and ethics documents.

Records form the Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement in response to American Oversight's request for email communications with industry lobbyists, including meetings on Blowout Preventer Systems and Well Control Rule. These records span from November 2018 to February 2019.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) stated that it had no records responsive to American Oversight's request for calendars for the Director for the Center for Faith and Opportunity Initiative.

The Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSMRE) stated that it had no records responsive to American Oversight's request for records to identify whether individuals nominated but not confirmed to high-level agency positions have contracts to perform the same or similar work for which they were unsuccessfully nominated.
